ABOUT OLENA

Olena Zavakevych, seeker of spiritual truths, and former TV journalist and anchor, met Sam at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York. She was enchanted by Sam’s honesty and fearless expression of his personal journey through poetry.

Olena got her first degree in economics. Then, while on the other side of the monumental Iron Curtain, she witnessed its crumbling first-hand. She become eager to explore the world and soon lived in many countries. Later, the bright and multicultural Houston became her home.

Olena has worked as an art teacher, muralist, gallery manager, film consultant, and restoration artist. She graduated from the prestigious Glassell School of Art, MFAH. Illustrating poetry is her present and most gratifying endeavor. She is passionate about and dedicated to the expansion of human consciousness.
